I started to paint in the eighties. I worked as a assistant for artist Steve Joy in London, New York and in Italy. I had my first solo show in Barcelona in 1992. Later I started a gallery in Oslo and an Artcenter outside of Oslo By the lake Tyrifjorden. My previous work was often made in a wax technique with strong color contrast, and I made my own colors , I was always interested in the abstract art as in Artst like Mark Rothco and Agnes Martin. Later my work has become more minimalistic and meditative.

New images, new possibilities. In my recent paintings, I have immersed myself in the horizon—in lines, rows, and sequences.
These trains of thought propel the process forward. In turbulent times, art becomes an anchor for me.
The meditative quality of the painting acts as a counterweight to the chaos outside. The contrast with my earlier, vibrant works is striking; the color palette is now significantly more subdued.
Visually, I aim to convey a breath. I reflect, I pause, I move with the flow.

One of my great inspirations from the 1980s was the artist Agnes Martin. She described art in a way that resonates deeply with me. She said: "When I think of art I think of beauty. Beauty is in the mystery of life. It is not in the eye it is in the mind. In our minds there is awareness of perfection."

I wish to reveal the beauty found in fragility and delicacy—to paint what is difficult to put into words. To explore what lies in between—between the lines. It is often in the space between that something new emerges.

How does one paint something as light as a feather? How does one express a breath?
